The tradition of rolling decorated eggs down grassy hills goes back hundreds of years and is known as "pace-egging", from Old English Pasch, meaning Passover.

It is a fun activity and we wanted to capture this interactivity though our interpretation. Taking influence from crazy golf courses which also involve rolling a small item around an arbitrary course, we made the Egg Roll golf course.

We created the letters and course in C4D before importing to Spline to add interactivity and mouse-follow mechanic.

Enjoy.

TYPOGRAPHIC, EGG INSPIRED GOLF COURSE

Cinema 4D

C4D was used to create the typographic course itself. Using type outlines that were cut up in Adobe Illustrator, before being imported, extruded, simplified and exported a FBX, ready for use in Spline.

Spline

The course was coloured in Spline, then physics and mouse-follow mechanics were added. The teething problems came from the geometry of the egg and rabbit creating hot spots of activity that can cause the egg to fly off in strange directions.
